Life has its moments of of unsurity, I think of them as seasons. You have Winter the season where it’s cold, lonely, the unknown. Fall the season where you have your good but you have some humps that throw you off your game but your still on both feet. Spring this season occurs after a rough season where you went through so much warfare, but because you persevered and pushed through, your spring season is where you start to see things bear fruit and are coming to fruition due to you not not losing sight of what God already established and declared over your life through his word . Then, there is Summer Your living your best life, you’re happy, everything’s coming together and your on cloud 9, life could not get any better, blessings on top of blessings.
Ecclesiastes 3:1; To everything there is a season…..
These different seasons are seasons that we will ALL face. No one is exempt from going through the wilderness. If Christ suffered and he suffered in worse ways than we ever could , what makes you think we won’t go through?
One thing about seasons is that there are no time limits on them. Usually when we go through season here in the natural they last what? like two-3 months? However when you’re in the spiritual realm there are no time limits. You can go through a season for days, weeks, months even years. We get these seasons to grow, be elevated and most important to be able to see God for who he is. You can learn a lot about yourself by how you deal with what comes your way. I know some people feel like it will never end, but let me tell you it won’t last and God will see you through. If you are going through your Winter,Spring or even Fall seasons where things are happening and you are afraid, walking in doubt or even confused just know that if you lean on God and let him guide you through the unknown the outcome with be worth what your going through. It’s when you take things into your own hands that’s when you mess yourself up.
I went through a really rough winter season in my life last year from mid- January 2018- November 2018 (about 11 months). When I tell you I went through HELL I went through HELL. So much was going on from family, friends, battling suicidal thoughts, torment, my walk with God, my faith in God. Everything was being tested, my faith was shaken from left to right. Friends were turning their back on me and speaking ill against me, one of my close friends committed suicide, and things were happening with family members, it was a lot.
There was a time I was so discouraged that I was ready to leave the church. I didn’t care that I was a praise and worship leader, dance leader, or served in other capacities. I was OVER IT!!! However even though I wanted to leave I couldn’t. My spirit wouldn’t let me. It was God and God alone as to why I did not leave my church, let alone God. The towel was right there in my hand I was ready to throw it in.God is so merciful, loving and compassionate.
When I gave up on me and Him, He was still there never left me. God could’ve left me in my funk and let it be so but he didn’t. He held my hand and walked me through it. That’s one thing about these seasons. You may feel like you are alone and no one understands or has been where you are but let me tell you this. God is there. You need someone to talk to, cry to, God is that guy! Go to him, seek him, trust him. Now! I am not that person who will tell you to do something that I have not done myself. When I was in a season of pruning and I was separated from everyone, no one to talk to/ vent I would literally have conversations and talk to God.
The word says it all, you can read the book of Job. Job the greatest man among all the people of the east is out here living his best life serving God when he starts getting attacked left a right. First he was attacked when:
- Job received word that the Sabeans came and took his livestock (which was his wealth) and they killed his servants then word came back and said that God’s fire fell and burned his sheep and his servants.
- While the messenger was telling Job of what was taking place another messenger came and reported that not only were his sheep and servants but the Chaldeans formed three bands, made a raid on the camels, and took them away and struck down more of Jobs servants with the sword.
- While the other messenger was telling Job of what was taking place he received word from yet another servant saying that while his sons and daughters were eating and drinking wine in his oldest sons brothers home a powerful wind swept in from the desert and struck four corners of the house and it collapsed on everyone inside and they all died.
- An just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse Job gets boils all over his body. I don’t know if anyone has had a boil but I have had a few in my life and CHHILLLEEEE not here for it.
So imagine going through all this in today’s world? Would you have the mindset that Job had. I know I wouldn’t have. Job did not curse God once. Job worshiped through all of these devastating moments in his life. Jobs wife was even telling him to curse God and die. Jobs wife felt like what is life? We lost everything! But nope Job stood his ground and stayed true to his integrity and honor for God.
One thing that stood out to me through out the story of Job was God knowing that no matter the curve balls thrown Jobs way he would never curse him, question him, leave him, God knew Job character and could trust Job. Everytime Job was about to be tested God was telling satan you can do whatever you want to Job you just can’t kill him. The devil was sure that Job was going to fail God ;
Job 1: 8-12; Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you noticed my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him. He is a good, faithful man. He respects God and refuses to do evil.” Satan answered the Lord, “But Job has a good reason to respect you. You always protect him, his family, and everything he has. You have blessed him and made him successful in everything he does. He is so wealthy that his herds and flocks are all over the country. But if you were to destroy everything he has, I promise you that he would curse you to your face.” The Lord said to Satan, “All right, do whatever you want with anything that he has, but don’t hurt Job himself.” Then Satan left the meeting.
So I want us to reflect on when we are going through these seasons can God trust us to not curse him when things get rough? Can he brag about us with assurity like he did with Job? The next time things get through let worship & prayer be the our response.
I love you all, stay encouraged and remember The Wilderness id NOT punishment. It’s God’s preparation for His promise.
Stay Blessed ❤ ❤
