Lady of Contentment

Philippians 4:11-13(AMP)

11 Not that I speak from [any personal] need, for I have learned to be content [and self-sufficient through Christ, satisfied to the point where I am not disturbed or uneasy] regardless of my circumstances. 12 I know how to get along and live humbly [in difficult times], and I also know how to enjoy abundance and live in prosperity. In any and every circumstance I have learned the secret [of facing life], whether well-fed or going hungry, whether having an abundance or being in need. 13 I can do all things [which He has called me to do] through Him who strengthens and empowers me [to fulfill His purpose—I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency; I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses me with inner strength and confident peace.]

The Question I would like to ask you is, are you  content with where you are relationship wise? Or are you Discontent? You want Mr or Mrs. Right to come right now! Your losing faith, are you becoming anxious?

So its February also known as the month of LOVE! Some of us who are single and have no one to share Valentine’s Day with can look at this month as dreadful and miserable. There is nothing more trying as a single person than living in a “couples world”. Trying to be content in a world where it seems like your non-existing love life is being dangled in front of you as a reminder of what you are lacking, can cause a lot of discontentment.  I know for me as I am currently in my single season it is easy to feel discouraged and can even make you ask yourself”what is wrong with me?” In reality there is nothing wrong with you it is just not your time.

Longing for something that you do not have is common and we all go through it. It is not just limited to us singles. Many of us desire certain things in life from financial abundance, children, buying a BIG house, owning your own business, traveling all over the world, but this desire I am talking about is having a relationship.

One thing I’ve learned as a single and heard countless of times from EVERYONE, is that if your discontent being single , you can count on being dissatisfied  as a married woman or man in the future. Never look for wholeness by being with someone. Only God can fill the void that you feel. It is best to wait for who God has for you, because He knows what you want but better yet he knows what you NEED.

Ruth was a women in the bible who had a perfect reason to be discontent. Widowed at a young age, her circumstances provided her the perfect breeding ground for bitterness and self-pity.  Yet Ruth chose to cling to God, who she found to be trustworthy in her difficult circumstances. I encourage you all who have not heard or read the story of Ruth to read it ( It’s in the old testament of the Bible). It will help you to remain faithful, to rely on God, and to continue to wait on God.

When you run ahead of God’s timing for your life you cause pain and suffering that could have been avoided if you were just patient and waited .Being single can be difficult enough for a woman, but believe you me a heartbreak from being “led on” by a man can lead to a ditch of discontentment.  Many women suffer for years with having trust issues and being emotionally scarred from falling into the arms of a counterfeit and it takes them years to recover and rediscover the capacity to trust any male in their life.

Misread intentions between males and females put them on a collision course. Daily, women’s hearts are broken because they allow their emotions to run ahead of their commitments. As a result, they end up emotionally crippled, angry at the men who failed to live up to their emotional fantasies. We need to keep our emotions in check and not be so quick to feed into how we are “feeling”.

Everyone has someone but me =(

I can speak first hand how it feels to have everyone around you in a relationship in love and just living life, and your sitting there like a bump on a log. It’s hard, and you start to feel  a certain way of about where you stand marital wise. As I started to grow in God and spend time with him more and more I started to become more content with where I am. I started to see how valuable my quiet time was with God. God was able to download things into my spirit about me and give me a self evaluation in areas where I was not whole. I still desire to find Love and live happily ever after but in these years of singleness God had to show me, ME! I thought I was fine the way I was but boy was I wrong. I had some things I needed to work on and he needed me to seek him more, so he could get me to where he needed me to be in HIM. I look at my relationship with God  like an actual relationship. When your in a relationship with someone and you enjoy their presence and just being around them 24/7. That’s how I feel about God. I love being in his presence whether it’s through worship, prayer, listening to a teaching even on my commute to work where I am just talking to him.

God has revealed so much about myself throughout this season and I am glad he did because I was a mess and no man wants an unstable woman.  Enjoy your singleness and be content.  Do not focus on what everyone else has or is doing. God will bless you and give you your heart’s desire when it’s time.

Reason why you could still be single

1) God is saving you from something or someone, The men that could be approaching you does not have your best interest at heart.

2) He needs you to get yourself together before he blesses you with his best. ( God dont bless no mess)

3) God wants  your full undivided attention

4) It’s not your time

5) Your not ready

6) God can’t trust you

We need to get to a place where we are so content that we get tired of going ahead of God and say ” Lord, I’m waving my white flag, whenever your ready…. I’m giving it to you”. That’s where I’m at! I was so tired of daydreaming about this special, one of a kind love and nothing was happening. It felt like the more attention I gave to my situation the further I felt from seeing it happen. I got tired and told God whenever he is ready he can send him! I will never forget my mom told me, the longer you sit here thinking about it and daydreaming about it, the longer it’s going to take.

I like to think of it as a pregnancy test. Now I’ve never took a pregnancy test but I’ve watched enough Youtube Videos and heard from family and friends their experiences. The waiting period of finding out the results of whether or not your pregnant is very nerve wrecking and it seems to take forever. When your anticipating an answer and you’re unsure of the future and what it holds, you want to know NOW what’s going on you will drive yourself crazy. Pacing back and forth, and thinking of all the possibilities the time tends to goes by super slow to the point where your on the verge of ripping your hair out and biting your nails down to your cuticles. However if you keep yourself busy and distract yourself while your waiting for the test results it tends to go by quicker.

(I hope you guys understand where I was going with that.)

When you start to focus on being in a relationship and having that someone who makes you feel all warm and fuzzy, you can easily start to worship the idea. You do not want to get to that place. Love is a beautiful thing but do not make that your primary thought.

Songs of Solomon 8:4 I charge you, O daughters of Jerusalem, that ye stir not up, nor awake my love, until he please.

(Word of Encouragement)

When you form a relationship with God while your in your singleness and you spend quality/ genuine time with Him  ( not just spending time so that you can be blessed and its not a pure thing… really send time with God  intentionally),and let him work on you and mold you into who he has created you to be. You will realize your worth,  who you are in Christ and the power you hold and most important how to LOVE yourself, you won’t settle just to have someone. When you love yourself you do not let anyone devalue your self worth.

You will get to the point where you want what GOD wants for you. You will be so content with your singleness that you wont give room for a counterfeit to come in and ruin what God has for you. God will give you the understanding and knowledge of who He is  and is capable of doing.  He has you covered. Be patient and wait on God. Focus on you, get yourself together spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically.

Work on breaking the cycles that have hindered you in the past  such as being quick to anger, jumping to conclusions, speaking before thinking, speaking before listening and understanding, being contentious, jealousy, bitterness, being insecure ,ect. When God brings His best for you, you  won’t have to  worry about  going backwards and going through the motions of what damaged you in the beginning because those cycles have been broken.

What God has for you is going to make you Thank God that you waited!!!!

Please Be Patient With Me… God is NOT done with me yet!

    Image result for process

  1. a series of actions or steps taken in order to achieve a particular end.

Many of us are currently going through a season of processing. This season is very challenging and crucial because it causes you to die from  a lot of things that have been causing delays in your purpose. It forces you to become subject and answer the call on your life. The process causes  us to go through tests so we can go to another level. During this stage you will have different characters who are only there to slow the process. You may encounter, Sister Discouragement, Brother Doubt, Sister Confusion, Brother from the past so on so forth. They are only there to distract you, shake you, and break you, but don’t fall for their tricks. They were sent from the enemy to keep you where he wants you.

James 1:12 (AMP); Blessed [happy, spiritually prosperous, favored by God] is the man who is steadfast under trial and perseveres when tempted; for when he has passed the test and been approved, he will receive the [victor’s] crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.

The enemy knows that you are not that strong in Christ and he still knows your weaknesses, strongholds, he knows how to keep you bound mentally so you will start walking in doubt and in fear. When I was in the processing stage I knew there were things I needed to die to, but I was afraid because I had become so comfortable in my sin. The process forced me to come naked and bare and step into the unknown. I know first hand how scary it is to have to let go of what has been so familiar and in a way a security blanket. God wants you to be naked ( spiritually) and let him mold and shape you. That’s what the process is all about.  Isaiah 64:8 Yet you, LORD, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.

I want to encourage you that when you feel like you can’t go on any further and you want to give up DON’T, DON’T give up PUSHPUSHPUSH deeper into the things of God. There are things in your life God needs and wants to break you from so you can be elevated. It is time we take EVERYTHING back from satan.

Even if you mess up and end up doing the same thing that your trying to get free from do not be discouraged. Remember this is a process it takes trial and error, it’s not an over night thing you will and shall overcome every obstacle that comes your way in the name of Jesus. You will have those naysayers who will say to you ” You say your trying to get right with God but you were  just watching  porn 3 days ago, or you were just smoking some marijuana with me last night”. Don’t let that discourage you, you have this. Next time you feel an urge and the enemy is sending suggestions open up the Word of God ( no better weapon than that) and start preaching to yourself LOUDand CLEARso the devil and all of hell can hear you and know that you mean business, your a force to be reckoned with and you shall be free. You can start off by declaring:

“I will be FREE in Jesus Name”

“No Weapon that is Formed Against me Shall be able to prosper”

“I am MORE than a Conquer.”

“The Devil is a Liar, I will not give into the lusts of my flesh”

” I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me

” Who the Son set free is free indeed”

I’m going to tell on myself real quick. I know for myself I would get frustrated when I would see my brothers and sisters in Christ doing things, saying things, behaving in a way in which I knew that they knew better. I would have an attitude with them on the inside and have a full fledged conversation with myself internally saying ” just yesterday they told me that they were done playing with the devil and were going to get serious about Christ, but here they are not even an hour later they are listening to lustful, perverse, ungodly music.”

As I started to grow and mature I  would remind myself that they are still in the transition/processing stage, where they need to be pruned. On top of that I was not perfect either, I was sinning but just differently and not publicizing it on social media, my sins were private….or so I thought, God saw & knew all my dirt.

One thing I know for sure is that God is a gentleman he will not force himself on no one, so he may be trying to get your attention and get you to focus on Him, but if you continue to ignore and push him away he will let you be.

Many of us want to live for Christ whole heartily but we do not want to give up our old habits. The enemy has brainwashed and glamorized sin to the point where sin looks like fun and living for Christ is boring and miserable, when in reality it is  the opposite.

I’ve noticed some challenges that the body of Christ faces when trying to get right with Christ. The church today has accepted the worlds “values” over Gods standards for how the body of Christ is to live. The church ( when I say the church I am talking about the body of Christ, because we are the church) is now polluted with so much filth, from the pulpit to the door. So when it comes to getting right with God there is so much confusion and people compromising as to what is right and what is wrong.

Romans 12:2 (KJV)  :And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

This is why it is important to feed our spirit with the word daily so we can be able to test the spirit and know when we are being deceived. We need to let God work on us and polish us up so he can present us as his child.

We need to keep in mind that as we are being processed and renewed in Christ that once God has brought you out, transformed you and put on a new garment, you need to make sure that you do not go and put back on your old filthy garments. When the enemy tries to bring you back run and don’t look back.

God will do His part but it is up to us to keep up with our end as well.

(P)urge- rid (someone) of an unwanted feeling, memory, or condition.

(R)efine- improve (something) by making small changes, in particular make (an idea, theory, or method) more subtle and accurate

(O)bedience- compliance with an order, request, or law or submission to another’s authority.

Can’t Walk With The World & Walk with God.

Image result for hot then cold

Revelations 3:16-17 ( AMP); So because you are lukewarm (spiritually useless), and neither hot nor cold, I will vomit you out of My mouth [rejecting you with disgust]. Because you say, “I am rich, and have prospered and grown wealthy, and have need of nothing,” and you do not know that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked [without hope and in great need],

Why are you a believer? Why do you go to church?

Christians are often mocked because we have a reputation of not practicing what we preach!  One minute we say we love God and call ourselves made in his image, living holy and righteous before Him, and then in the same breath we have the mannerisms of the world. We are in the world, but we aren’t supposed to be of the world. Obviously we can’t put ourselves in a bubble separating ourselves from the world, but we need to have self- control and learn to not give in to the acts of this world.

Matthew 15:8 This people honors me with their lips,but their heart is far from me;

We aren’t supposed to get caught up in the world’s way of

  1. living
  2. selfishness
  3. greed
  4. strife
  5. envy
  6. gossips
  7. enmity with God, etc.

We are to be different, set apart by how we live our lives. Do you really think God can move and work through us, if on the inside all we have is a whole bunch of filth, confusion, lust, and perversion from the world? God needs us to have his likeness.

How can we compel others to come to Christ when we mirror the world? That sounds very silly right?  We want people to know the God that we serve and have that relationship and intimacy, but we ( the examples) are living like hellions. We must really ask ourselves who is my God? Am i really serving God? Where do I want to live for eternity Heaven or Hell? ( yeah, I went there!) BUT, Really think about it.

Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

There are no grey areas when it comes to living for Christ! Either we are all the way sold out for Christ or all the way sold out to satan. God would actually prefer us to be either HOT or COLD! I say this because if your COLD God can work on you and get you to the place where you  want a relationship with him! If your already Hot and on fire for God great! God is a gentleman so he will not force himself on no one. His arms are opened wide ready to receive you, but if your back is towards him and you have shunned him then so be it.

God hates Lukewarm people it’s vomit in his mouth and he will spit you out!

Revelations 3:5 ( AMP); He who overcomes [the world through believing that Jesus is the Son of God] will accordingly be dressed in white clothing; and I will never blot out his name from the Book of Life, and I will confess and openly acknowledge his name before My Father and before His angels [saying that he is one of Mine].

Are you Lukewarm?

                        Characteristics of a Lukewarm believer:

  • They only come to God when they have a problem
  • They are selfish and only think about what God can do for them.
  • They don’t trust God and twist the word to fit their sin.
  • They compromise with the world because it’s the most “popular” choice.
  • They only want to be a Christian because they are afraid of hell.
  • They never share their faith.
  • They think they are Christians because they do good deeds.
  • They care more about what others think than what God thinks!

Living for Christ comes with sacrifice. When you come to God and say the sinner’s prayer and accept Him as your Lord and Savior it’s time to die to the old you. So that means  if you enjoyed partying, drinking, smoking, lusting after women/ men, being provocative, fornicating, cursing, listening to worldly music and watching certain TV Shows, all that has to comes to an end.

If it does not glorifying God you do not need to entertain it. It’s time to put old things in the past and start over, living fresh and a new for Christ. It’s time for a spiritual purge.

This is why we get baptized after we accept Jesus into our hearts. Being baptized symbolizes you dying to your old self ( going under the water) and coming up a new person ( coming up from the water). After becoming a new creature you will have to practice dying to your flesh and get your life with Christ in order. It takes time to be totally delivered especially after  , there will be  plenty of denying yourself, fasting and praying that will take place!

We have to continuously stay at the feet of Jesus and cry out for our souls to be delivered and set free.

If you really want God you will try your best to live for him and set a standard for yourself.  God is aware of who is truly living for him. God looks at the heart and can see those who spend time with Him daily and making an effort. If you are purposely sinning and doing what the word of God says not to do then that makes God very upset and displeased.

We as the body of Christ must raise the standard and  do better. We all have a purpose, and that is to share the gospel of Jesus Christ and want souls saved, delivered and set free from bondage. We all have a part in God’s plan.

There was a time when people went to church, heard the truth and wept over their sins. Today….. people go to church hear a motivational speech and ignore their sins.

“Part-time Christians cannot defeat a full time devil”

Satan would love nothing more than for us to  become distracted by the world and become lukewarm to the pureness of Christ. The devil will make you feel like if you don’t follow the crowd and what is “popular” then you are an outcast and a reject and he knows that we are all about our emotions and we let that dictate what we will do and will not do.

In this day and age everyone wants to be accepted and liked by one another, that we lose who we are to impress those who could care less about our soul salvation!

We cannot fall for his tricks. We have something greater than this world to help us. Let go of things that are of the earth, and “put on therefore, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, humility and perseverance; bearing with one another, and forgiving each other”

It’s time we stand up to the devil and let him know who and whose we are he can’t touch us! It’s time that we take back our walk, take back our identity in Christ and let the devil know he should have his way with you when he had you….But it’s too late boo! You are dismissed!

I hope this encourages you! Let’s rise up as the body of Christ! Set a standard and live as God intended for us to live! Stop giving room for the enemy to come in and wreck havoc!

                                                                       God Bless

Are you Genuine or Insincere about Worship?

Image result for true worship

This topic just started to weigh heavy in my spirit. Every morning I listen to different christian podcasts to get myself in the right spirit, mind frame and to start my day off right. One of the podcasts’ that I was listening to was speaking on the topic of worship. The man of God asked a question, and the question was ” When you sing unto God what is your heart’s posture? Are you genuinely singing to God, and mean what we say? OR  are you just singing because you know the words? that is your  favorite song?  you like the beat?”. That was a question that I had to ask myself because I’m a Youth Praise and Worship Leader, so I had to evaluate my worship.

I’ve come to church not in the greatest of moods because I had a rough day and when I come to church I find out that I have to sing. I honestly don’t feel like singing, but I know that as a Praise and Worship leader it is my duty along with the body of Christ to set the atmosphere for  God to come in and  also help set the atmosphere for our Pastor to come and deliver the word of God. This is why it is important to:

  1.  Worship before getting to the house of God. Get yourself pumped and excited for what God is about to do in the service.
  2. Center you Heart before worship  Whatever you went through before coming to church leave it outside and come in to the house of God with a spirit of expectancy.
  3. Arrive early. Get to church on time so you can pray and get yourself in the position to where God can come in and speak to you, move through you, break and transform you.

So before I step my foot on that stage I pray “Lord all of you none of me! Whatever emotions that I am feeling that are not of you take it out of me. I want you to get all the glory and honor and I want people to be able to sense your presence. I repent for coming into your house with the cares of this world, create in me a clean heart so I can worship you in spirit and in truth”. Now of course this prayer may change from time to time, but the Word Of God says we need to kill our flesh, so I make sure I am right in my spirit before worshiping God with a tainted heart.

Before we get DEEP! let me define what worship is. Worship is having reverent honor to God. For those of us who are not sure what reverence means, its deep respect for someone or something.  Coming to church and singing slow songs is not worship. The way we live, determines whether or not we are worshipers. The reason why I say that the way we live our lives determines if we are worshipers or not is because, God looks at our hearts posture. Praise and Worship originates in our hearts, If your worship is not pure than it means nothing to God.

John 4:24: God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

                                           True Worship Vs Familiar Worship

True Worship:

John 4:24 (KJV);  God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

When you TRULY worship God from your heart, there is no way that you can worship him with no emotion or feeling. Worship has true emotion behind it, you feel an emotion where sometimes you cannot contain yourself, you start crying , speaking in tongues, you let the Lord move as He please.

To get an idea of worship and the emotion think of it as falling in love with someone that you cannot visualize not being with for the rest of your life . When a man is getting ready to propose to love of his life they usually have this nice speech prepared.  The speech is usually the man telling his Lady how much they mean to them, the journey and the transformation of his life, how he couldn’t see a future without her  ( something along those lines).

The guy may get choked up and start getting emotional and cannot contain himself because they are overwhelmed with emotions that are explainable. Worship is just like that. You love God with all your heart, you have these love songs (worship) dedicated to Him expressing what He means to you, how much you love Him, how you’re not complete without Him, you don’t know where you would be today if you never met him.

Worship is also a form of intimacy with God.  When I worship God sometimes I think about the overall goodness and greatness of God, his grace and mercy on my life. I start to feel an emotion that is explainable sometimes I feel chills or I just start to smile, I can’t contain myself. You don’t have to be all over the place, falling out , screaming, laid out, for people to see or think that you’re in the spirit. Let it happen naturally.

I always keep in mind that in order for our worship to be effective we must have a pure relationship with our Lord.  I try to stay in the spirit of Worship at all times good days and bad days, in and out of church. That is a MAJOR KEY!

Psalms 51:1-11 I encourage you to read and get into your heart, you could even pray this prayer as well.

Familiar Worship:

Familiar worship is more so like a ritual, they sing the same songs every service, your singing because they asked you to join in and participate. It’s not genuine or pure, your only singing because you “feel” you have to or because you were asked. Personally I see a shift when the songs are upbeat and you can move (that’s called praise) . If its a “popular song” or a song with a nice beat we tend to participate more and you don’t have to ask them to clap, open their mouths and sing. God wants you to WANT to worship him because you LOVE.

God is a gentleman he will NOT force himself on no man.

We as the body of Christ should not want the spirit of familiarity on us. That causes problems in the future.

What is your heart’s posture?

“It is not the body’s posture, but the heart’s attitude that counts”

An Obedient Heart– Obedience in itself is an act of worship. True Christian obedience flows from a heart of gratitude for the grace we have received from the Lord.

( Romans 12:1 )

An Expectant Heart–  A person will never receive beyond their expectancy! Expectancy is the key to the doorway of receiving God’s blessing. Expectancy opens your heart to hear and receive from the Lord Jesus Christ.  ( Hebrews 11:1)

I want to ask you a  few questions? Think about it, you don’t have to write it down you can just answer out loud or in your head:

  • Do I genuinely care about the people in the room, as God cares for them?
  • Am I transparent before the Lord about  my own brokenness and shortcomings?
  • Am I humble? Am I gracious? Am I genuine?
  • Am I holding on to bitterness or hurt feelings?
  • Have I taken in more of the world and less of the Word of God?
  • Release the sin through confession.
  • Receive God’s forgiveness and restoration of the joy of salvation.

Different Types of Postures for Worship.

  • Prostrate – 1 Corinthians 14:24-25
  • Dance 2 Samuel 6:14-15
  •  Bowing- Psalm 5:7
  • Walking and jumping.-Acts 3:8
  •  Lifting hands.-Psalm 28:2

Conclusion :

Worship isn’t about people. Worship isn’t even about the music. Worship is about giving God the honor and glory he deserves. The deepest level of worship is praising God in spite of the pain, thanking God during the trials, trusting Him when we’re tempted to lose Hope and LOVING HIM when He seems so distant and far away. At my lowest, God is my hope. At my darkest God is my light. At my weakest, God is my strength . At my saddest, God is my comforter.

Where Is The Love?

Related image

“When you love your enemies you reveal what kind of God our God is”

We are living in a time where HATE seems to be the norm. Everyone is so caught up on emotions and how THEY feel, and they allow that to overcome their life. One thing for sure is that  if you let how “YOU FEEL” run your life  it will ruin your life as well. We have to understand that not everyone is going to like you, not everyone want the best for you,  not everyone is going to “PUT RESPECT ON YOUR NAME” , but you can’t let that put you in a place where your heart becomes HARD towards them.

I can’t sit here and act as if I have all the answers or a perfectionist on how to deal with your “enemies”. I struggle with this on a daily basis. There are days I am tested by people on purpose, but by these tests I can see what and where I need to work on concerning my heart. What I can say is that I have definitely matured in this area where it pertains to growth and maturity. I know that we all  have come across people who have rubbed us the wrong way, but God  gave us a  command  on how to deal with those people.

Matthew 5:44-45  (KJV);  44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you 45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

I work with people on a day to day basis from different walks of life. I come across people who are rude and disrespectful and have no manners what so ever. There are days that I dread calling certain people because  I  tend to catch them on a bad day or bad time where they are grumpy, angry and just miserable, and they take it out on me.  I do get frustrated and feel my heart pounding so hard that you could probably see the imprint through my shirt.  I’ve been known ( in the past of course) to have a slick  mouth, but the Lord has dealt with me concerning self-control. Whenever I feel my emotions rising I hear the Lord telling me “ You are responsible for your response, speak with Love and Calmness.”

Proverbs 15: A soft and gentle and thoughtful answer turns away wrath,  But harsh and painful and careless words stir up anger.

Believe it or not it works. I take DEEP….. DEEP breaths and respond with a soft tone and usually by the end of the conversation their tone has changed and everyone is happy and satisfied.

How we treat those who have came against us shows who we TRULY are and our hearts posture.  Our hearts posture is important as believers because it shows others our true self in the purest form, and like I’ve said before what is in our heart will come out. So if we are continuously feeding our spirit with negativity, anger, frustration, hate, drama, gossip, evil, judgment ect, then that’s what we will exude and no one wants to be around a negative Nacy.

So it’s important that we continue to keep love and forgiveness in our hearts and make sure our posture is that of God. Now don’t get me wrong, It is easier said than done, but  believe you me with enough Practice, Self- Control, and  SELFLESSNESS it will become  easier. I have some Tips/ encouragement for everyone struggling with walking in love where is concerns your enemies:

  • Tip 1: Pray for them- Now when you pray for your “enemies” it may or may not change them but it will change you. When you’re praying for your enemies don’t pray with intent that God will get revenge or something bad happens to them. Truly pray for their hearts to be healed, delivered, made whole and overall well being.
  • Tip 2:Don’t practice “selective kindness” show kindness even to those who don’t return it. This is putting our faith into action.
  • Tip 3 ( Reminder) : People are the least lovable when they need love the most.
  • Tip 4: Let God deal with your enemies
  • Tip 5: Be careful with how you respond
  • Tip 6:  When you look deeply into your anger, you will see that the person you call your enemy is also suffering. As soon as you see that , the capacity for accepting and having compassion for them is there.
  • Tip 7: Jesus will never ask you to do something His Spirit is unable help you accomplish.

Forgiveness releases the offense into the hands of God remember that.

Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord. On the contrary: “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. (Romans 12:17-21)

Why should we love our enemies?

  • God Commands that we love Everyone- Including our Enemies
  • Our Highest calling is to spread the gospel and help others grow in Christ:
  • Jesus Loved His enemies. Make Him your example

Loving your enemies it’s not a suggestion, but a command from God. I know, I know they don’t deserve your love or even your attention, but how can we show the love of God if we continue to walk in our flesh.  As followers of Christ our life must be fully in accordance with the Gospel. Only then we shall be able to get forgiveness and blessings of our Lord.

Now this is just me, but I can’t see how we can call ourselves a CHRISTIAN and not be CHRIST -LIKE. We have the perfect example of how to be a Christian through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. If you read the story of Jesus and see all he went through from being lied on, betrayed by his own, beaten, spit on, humiliated, mocked but through it all he never sinned and still had love regardless, that should be our mindset as well.

Leviticus 19:18 – Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself: I [am] the LORD.

Think about how many  times we have asked God to forgive us of what we have done? Did you know that the word says ” in Matthew 6:15; But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” This is simply saying that in order for us to be forgiven by our heavenly father for our wicked acts done against Him, we must be able to forgive others who have come against us.  We sin against God on a daily basis, especially if we are walking in Hate and Unforgiveness.

In Hebrews 10: v26-v31 it talks about those who sin willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins ( v26).  We as believers and even those who may not believe but know some what of the word ( the basics) know that walking in Love and  forgiveness is a command, and when we walk in ignorance and continue to sin and walk in disobedience, we are setting ourselves up for judgment and fiery indignation against those who live against God.

Could you imagine if God wasn’t so merciful, graceful and loving, and we lived in the manner in which we live today?

Let’s take a Test: Let’s examine ourselves and see what  areas we need to work on.

“0” means ” I need Improvement”

“10” means ” I’m great at this”

____ I am patient.
____ I am kind.
____ I do not envy.
____ I do not boast.
____ I am not proud.
____ I am not rude.
____ I am not self-seeking.
____ I am not easily angered.
____ I keep no record of wrongs.
____ I do not delight in evil.
____ I rejoice with the truth.
____ I always protect.
____ I always trust.
____ I always hope.
____ I always persevere.
____ My love never fails.

Look at your answers and see what needs improvement. Maybe you need to get in your prayer closet and ask God to help you in these areas. I know I see some that I still need to work on.

We must remember that Hurt people….. Hurt people. We never know what someone is going through at home or within themselves. The wrong response could make them go over the edge and results could be crucial even deadly, or if you respond with love the outcome could be life changing and end on a positive note . Don’t let a hard and UGLY heart  send you to hell. It is not worth it. Forgive, Love and Move on. We are living in the last days and the world is just getting darker, wicked and evil. We need more Love in this world than Hate.

Set Apart For a Greater Purpose!

Romans 8:28 (KJV); And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Did you know that before you were conceived in your mother’s womb that the lord had already set you apart and placed a calling on your life? In the end it is up to you  to answer the call or not.  Jeremiah 1:5 (AMP); “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you [and approved of you as My chosen instrument],
And before you were born I consecrated you [to Myself as My own];
I have appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

I remember  like it was yesterday. It was 2013 My mom and I were on one of our walks where we talk and have our Mother and Daughter time and we saw a friend who lived in the neighborhood. We stopped and talked to him for a little bit, mid way through the conversation he stops and looks at me and tells me that God wants to use me in such a way that it is going to cause me to be separated from people. He goes on to say it’s going to be REAL LONELY but God needs me to be away from people so he can manifest somethings in me and fulfill the calling/purpose that he placed on my life.  Now at this point in my life I was just getting accustomed to hanging around people who were the total opposite of what I was use to being around. I was now surrounded with young people who go to church, are involved in the church, didn’t drink, didn’t smoke, didn’t curse, were kingdom minded ect. Now lets keep in mind that I had just graduated from college a year prior (class of 2012)  so I am still being totally delivered from my old habits.

When I heard  that, I was not sure on how to feel because I had dealt with so much inconsistency in my life that I was a little numb to the news of someone walking out of my life once again . Even though a part of me was excited because I have seen what God can do and is capable of and I wanted to experience it, but on the other hand  the idea of being alone and separated from my peers was not the move at the time. I was use to always being out and about, around people , just enjoying life the right way for once and now I had to sacrifice it all so God can do his thing.  After receiving the word that the Lord gave this young man to give me, I took hold of everything BUT the part of being set apart. So I kept hanging out and staying busy not giving time to God like I should have, so you know what ended up happening? God started to remove people from my life. One thing I’ve learned is that if you don’t do what God has called you to do, He will get you in a place where you have NO CHOICE but to take heed and be obedient ( however there are people who may still rebel and ignore God, but when you fear God you will submit and become obedient.)

God started to remove people from my life and I would see my peers on social media hanging out and having fun and I noticed that I never got an invite. I know we have all been in a position where you were you didn’t make the cut and was on the “Oops forgot to invite you list” and you find out that your friends had a night filled with fun and adventures but no invite was extended to you. Yeah, I’ve been on that list plenty of times.  So, now what felt like rejection from my peers brought me back to a sad/depressed state I was so devastated and perplexed on what was going on. This was just the beginning of my journey.

Deuteronomy 14:2 Amplified Bible (AMP) “for you are a holy people [set apart] to the Lord your God; and the Lord has chosen you out of all the people who are on the earth to be a people for His own possession.”

I would have never imagined that the season of loneliness that I went through would have been as rocky and unstable as it was. When I say the different levels of emotions I went through LORD HAVE MERCY!!! talk about roller coaster. I was all over the place to the point where I started to think something was wrong with me, and I became sad and depressed because it seemed as if I could not keep friends, or just people around me. Little did I know that was nothing but the trick of the enemy to get me to stray away from God and distract me with my emotions.  In reality God was removing people from my life. Where God wanted to take me I couldn’t bring people, but I was not comprehend that in the beginning.

I would try to hold on to these relationships that God showed me I HAD to let go of. I was so afraid of being alone and feeling left out that I ignored God and all the signs that he was showing me. I ended up not just hurting myself but also hurting my walk with God which caused a delay in the process. When God calls you for a greater purpose you have to walk alone. You may love someone, love being friends with someone, spending time with people, but since God has a specific call on your life they can’t go with you. They can become a hindrance and hold you back and even could also potentially jeopardize the call on your life.

1 Corinthians 12:12-27 talks about  even though we are all one body we all have different assignments and just because you have a different assignment it doesn’t mean that you’re greater or less than another. Ephesians 4: 11-16 talks about different callings that help edify the body of Christ. Everyone has a purpose here on Earth, believe it or not we ALL have a purpose. Some of you may be thinking How can I have a purpose for the Kingdom of God? I’m not perfect! I make mistakes! I am not where I would like to be!  God will deliver you with your help of course and God will use:

  •  your experiences
  • areas that you felt were your lowest of lows to touch the lives of those who can relate
  • and help deliver those who have been where you have been.

You will be surprised with how many people have gone through or are currently going through what you have been through.

My Loneliness is Birthing my Purpose!

Isaiah 41:10 AMP; So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

I can honestly say looking back in my season of loneliness (currently still in the season) it’s been rewarding. In the beginning I definitely did not see it as rewarding by any means but, by spending more time with God He has  shown me the direction of where he wants to take me, what He is preparing me for is something great, and I must trust him through the process. Now during my “Me” time, God definitely opened my eyes to see:

  • People for who they really are
  • Showed me what and who he saved me from
  • Took the scales off of my eyes so I would stop being naive
  • Showed me things about myself that I needed/need to work on
  • What i needed to mature in concerning my walk with Christ
  • My purpose
  • Most importantly allowed me to know God for who HE is and know him in a more intimate way.

We must be able to perceive the season because there are different seasons for different reasons.  When God separates you for a purpose/ plan and you’re not able to comprehend what is going on seek God’s face. Do not get wrapped up in your thoughts, emotions and what you can see with the natural eye, because you can easily become subject to those emotion if you dwell in them long enough. That is dangerous! When you let your emotions run your thoughts you can end up walking right out of God’s will for your life because you’re not focused on becoming. One thing about God is that there is a reason behind everything he does nothing he does is in vain.

God has to get you to a place where he can have your full undivided attention. Especially if you’re a busy body who is always up and running with everyone but never sacrifice time to be with God. We all have a purpose and God wants us to live out our purpose and in order for that to happen we must get in the face of God and just communicate with him through prayer, reading his word and just surrendering your life to him also known as submission.

” God isolates you so you can get yourself together. It may seem like you lost friendships & relationships but a better you is worth more!”

So I just want to encourage you today to stay focused on the call that God has set for you. If God is trying to get your attention and you can sense him pulling at your heart take heed, listen and be obedient. The end results will have you EXCITED that you were obedient and let God have his way. Your purpose is greater than anything this world has to offer or can offer. KINGDOM MINDED… KINGDOM DESTINED. Gets no better than that.

God Bless,

God, Do you still love me?

Image result for do you love me?

I find myself from time to time reflecting on my life and thinking about all the craziness that I’ve carried on in my past. Sometime I even doubt myself, and think that maybe I’ve messed up so much that God’s Love for me is not as strong as it once was. Well I am here to tell you that God Loves you no matter what. However I am not saying that since God loves you he is going to disregard the wrong that you do. The word of God says that God Blinked once at sin and he won’t do it again(Acts 17:30 (KJV);And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men everywhere to repent.)

When I was new in my walk with God, I was taught that God is a forgiving and merciful God. I took advantage of that and would do things that I knew I had no buisness doing, and had the mindset of well God will forgive me and he knows my heart. Remember I was ignorant back then and did not know  better,  I was not aware that there would still be consequences to my actions regardless of me being a christian and believing in God.  Now when I hear people say ” well God knows my heart” Jeremiah 17:9 comes to mind it says;  The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? That scripture right there should make us want to check our heart everyday to make sure we do not carry on any wickedness.

When we decide to follow Christ we are deciding to carry our cross and follow after God. We are not going to be perfect we will mess up from time to time, but as long as we do not keep falling in the same trap and going back to old habits God can truly deliver us. It starts with YOU! We must put in the time and effort to change and truly want to get rid of the former things .

5 Truths about God’s Love:

1) God loves you Unconditionally

Jeremiah 31:3 ( AMP);The Lord appeared to me (Israel) from ages past, saying,
“I have loved you with an everlasting love;
Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you and continued My faithfulness to you.

God Loves you regardless of who you are and what you have done. God Loves EVERYONE UNCONDITIONALLY. Even if you don’t feel like he loves you because you are not “perfect” he loves you flaws and all. If we were perfect ( as some of us would like to believe) we wouldn’t need God. No one is perfect but God himself. We can sit here and pretend that we are, but we are only deceiving ourselves. So YOU! Yes, YOU God loves you and he is welcoming you with open arms. Forget about what you have done in the past year, 5 mins , 2 seconds , God loves you and he wants to talk to you and love on you.

2) God disciplines those he Loves

Hebrews 12:6 (AMP);For the Lord disciplines and corrects those whom He loves,
And He punishes every son whom He receives and welcomes [to His heart].”

When things happen in our life that you may find tragic, disappointing, even life changing it is not always the devil who is behind the scenes. We give satan too much credit. Sometimes it’s us and our decisions that we have made, that has put in the midst of chaos and confusion. God will discipline us in many ways to teach a lesson and show us that we need to seek him and not go back to what brought us to the place that we are currently in.  Sometimes we need to go through some rough situations to get us to see that we need to change and be set apart from the things of the world. If God did not love us he would have gave us to our own lustful desires.

3) God’s Love reaches beyond Circumstances

I can only speak for myself, but when you have an encounter with God your life is never the same. I have gone through so much in my life but through  it all I’ve always felt God’s love. You can be at your lowest of lows but knowing that God is there and is not going anywhere gives you a sense of hope. God’s love is just peace through the rough times, and even though you may feel sad, rejected, and alone, knowing that God is right there and you can express to him how you feel makes everything better. God wants us to talk to him and keep the communication lines open and he wants to talk to us as well.

4) Loving God helps You Love Others

Psalm 86:15 But you, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.

When you love God with a pure heart you want to be a reflection of him. Therefore you want to love like him and you want to exude his presence. In the scripture above it talks about how God is slow to anger, abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness. When it comes to interacting with our peers we need to remember this. When people come out of character and say/do things that make you want to reach out and touch them , have a WWJD (what would Jesus do) moment.  Galatians 6:1 says  Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted.

Don’t feed into their negativity and dramatics. Let them act out and you continue to hold your composure. If you do decide to speak up don’t reply in a manner that would make someone look at you and say ” I thought she was a Christian and went to church” because we all know someone who will be quick to throw that statement in our face. Keep your composure and love on them.

Colossians 3:8, 12-13 But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth. Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.

5) Jesus DIED for YOU and I

John 15:3- Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

Need I say more? Who do you know would die for you so that you can live in abundance. Who do you know would be willing to be persecuted and lied on for your sake? Who do you know would shed bled for you so that you can be saved? Who do you know went to Hell and took the keys from Satan? There is no one on this earth that will sacrifice their life for millions of people that they do not know, so they can have a prosorus life. That is love right there, Before he even knew us he died for us.  He set us up for a life of abundance. If that does not make you excited I don’t know what is going on.

I would like to close by saying that if you have not felt the love of God or maybe you’re not sure if you have but you want to experience his Love say this prayer OUT LOUD!

Father God,

I come into your presence so aware of my human frailty and yet overwhelmed by your love for me. I thank you that there is no human experience that I might walk through where your love cannot reach me. If I climb the highest mountain you are there and yet if I find myself in the darkest valley of my life, you are there. Teach me today to love you more. Help me to rest in that love that asks nothing more than the simple trusting heart of a child. In Jesus name,

xoxo Z.M<3

#Spiritual Maturity

Image result for spiritual maturity

Have you ever been in a situation as a believer where you  want to grow deeper and deeper in Christ, which means killing your flesh and submitting to God? Ignoring what is going on around you and having a keen ear to what the Lord is telling you to do? Or even in your day to day life? You want to better yourself, whether that be eating healthy, being more positive, prioritizing your life ect…..

Whenever you try to better yourself you will always have that special someone in your ear either talking about you (negatively), how you’ve changed, you think you’re better than everyone else, you’re a holy roller ect. I know I’ve experienced that.

I had an incident where a guy that I know said that I was  ” Holier then thou” because I stopped drinking, partying, and started going back to church ect and chose to follow after Christ. I was not sure if I was to take offense to what he said or to just ignore and go about my business. Me being the person I am, I chose to speak up and let him know I am not perfect by any mean, I just choose to live a life that pleases God and obey his word. It still left a bad taste in my mouth afterwards but I came to understand that regardless people are going to find fault with you whether or not you change.

   Fault Finding:

I always, ALWAYS find it funny ( not really),  when a believer has a weak moment and they find themselves in a situation where they go back to their old ways and end up “backsliding”. You have those who find fault and are so quick to throw scripture verses and try to condemn you. I feel like people forget that we are human and we mess up. We are not perfect by any means. If that was the  case we would not need The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit on a daily basis to help us.

Proverbs 11:12-13 says ;  He who belittles and despises his neighbor lacks sense, but a man of understanding keeps silent. He who goes about as a talebearer reveals secrets, but he who is trustworthy and faithful in spirit keeps the matter hidden.

Those that are quick to find fault in others and have a  critical attitude can hinder their walk with God and distract them from God’s purpose is for their life. It is easy for us to find fault with others but before we go to check someone about what they did wrong check yourself first!  ( Matthew 7:3). As believers ( and I’ve said this in other posts) we need to encourage, correct one another with love and just pray for one another when we see that our brother or sister in Christ is having  a weak moment and need strength.

Milk Vs Meat (Hebrews 5:12-14; scripture below)

Milk as it relates to your Spiritual Maturity means that you are still a spiritual infant . You are still learning and growing in certain areas in your life. Just like a baby who needs to be fed milk for strength and nourishment that’s the same way Milk correlates to a new believer. You will go through tests to see where you are strong and where you are weak, what areas God can and cannot trust you in, are you ready for the next level ect. You will be tested in all stages of Growth in the Lord.

Meat as it relates to your Spiritual Maturity means that you’ve studied to show yourself approved. You’ve been through the fire and experienced things that should have broke you, but because of where you are in your walk with Christ you overcame and were not defeated. This level of Spiritual Maturity shows that you have grown, matured( you’re not perfect, nobody’s perfect but God himself), you know right from wrong, you’re able to discern things ect.  You are at another level of service to God.

Signs of Maturity in Christ

  1. The highs and lows of life don’t impact your relationship with God.
  2. You find value in the trivial seasons of life.
  3. You are at peace with situations beyond your control.
  4. You don’t allow disciplines to take a back seat.
  5. You maintain a childlike sense of wonder and awe.
  6. You do not compare yourself to others.
  7. You listen to others who have a different viewpoint…with the goal of growing and not correcting.
  8. You understand Christianity doesn’t have an on/off switch

  Spiritual Maturity is NOT:

  1. Spiritual maturity is not about age.
  2. Spiritual maturity is not about achievements.
  3. Spiritual maturity is not about appearance.

3 Scripture Verses About Maturity in Christ

1 Corinthians 14:20;  “Brothers, do not be children in your thinking. Be infants in evil, but in your thinking be mature.

Wisdom comes from the Holy Spirit, from the Word of God and from teachers who diligently study the Word on a regular basis.  Maturity does not happen automatically.  It is hard work but we can also ask God for wisdom and there is no reason that He won’t give it to us

Hebrews 5: 12-14;  For though by this time you ought to be teachers [because of the time you have had to learn these truths], you actually need someone to teach you again the elementary principles of God’s word [from the beginning], and you have come to be continually in need of milk, not solid food. 13 For everyone who lives on milk is [doctrinal inexperienced and] unskilled in the word of righteousness, since he is a spiritual infant. 14 But solid food is for the [spiritually] mature, whose senses are trained by practice to distinguish between what is morally good and what is evil.

2 Peter 3: 16-18: speaking about these things as he does in all of his letters. In which there are some things that are difficult to understand, which the untaught and unstable [who have fallen into error] twist and misinterpret, just as they do the rest of the Scriptures, to their own destruction. 17 Therefore, [let me warn you] beloved, knowing these things beforehand, be on your guard so that you are not carried away by the error of unprincipled men [who distort doctrine] and fall from your own steadfastness [of mind, knowledge, truth, and faith], 18 but grow [spiritually mature] in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be glory (honor, majesty, splendor), both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.

Those who are ignorant of the Scriptures can take scripture out of context and create a false one .  One way to avoid this is to grow in the  knowledge of our Lord. If you take the time out to study the bible you will be able to discern and understand exactly what the word is saying, and there will be no need for you to create your own idea of what you THINK it means.

So I want you to do a self check and see where you fall on the spiritual growth spectrum!

Romans 10:9 (KJV); That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

John 3:3 (KJV);  Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

When you say the Salvation prayer it’s a rebirth. You are asking God to come into your life and not just come into your life but the HEAD of your life. You must confess with your MOUTH that Jesus Christ is Lord, and not just say it but truly believe it! God knows your heart so if you don’t mean it believe you me he knows.

Salvation is the “permission slip” to enter heaven when you leave this world.

Salvation takes place when a person listens to the salvation message, believes it, and makes a decision to receive Jesus into his or her heart.

When you make the decision to  give your HEART, MIND, BODY, SOUL to Christ (Salvation Prayer) there are steps that you must follow :

1. Acknowledge in your heart that Jesus is Lord.

2. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord.

3. Believe that Jesus died for your sins and was raised three days later.

4. Repent of your sins and get baptized in the name of Jesus

Prayer of Salvation:

Heavenly Father, I come to You now, I acknowledge You as God, Creator of Heaven and Earth. Heavenly Father, I confess that I am a sinner, I have sinned against you.

I believe in my heart that Jesus Christ is Your Son and You sent Your Son on Earth, and he was born of a virgin. I believe that Jesus Christ is the one true sacrifice for my sins.

I believe that Jesus Christ was crucified on a cross as a sacrifice for the sins of this world, sins which have blinded me and separated me from You. I believe, Heavenly Father, that You sent Jesus Christ to personally die for me and my sins.

I believe Jesus Christ, Your Son  took upon Himself all of my sins and the sins of all mankind.I believe Jesus, who knew no sin, became sin for me that I may receive Eternal Life.

I believe Heavenly Father, You raised Jesus Christ from the dead and He is alive and well, seated at Your Right Hand in Heaven. I now repent (turn) from my sin and choose to follow and obey Christ Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I ask you Jesus Christ to be the Lord of my life and lead me in all areas of my life. I receive you Lord Jesus as my Lord and Savior with all my heart and believe that you are My King and My God.

Lord fill me with you Holy Spirit, and use my life as a willing vessel. Heavenly Father I ask that my life will glorify You.

Thank You Heavenly Father for my salvation by faith in Christ Jesus and the Truth of Your Word, in Jesus’ Name.

  • Spend time with God each day. It does not have to be a long period of time. Just develop the daily habit of praying to Him and reading His Word.
  • Ask God to increase your faith and your understanding of the Bible.
  • Seek fellowship with other followers of Jesus. Develop a group of believing friends to answer your questions and support you.
  • Find a local church where you can worship.

                                                    One last Thing: (Ending Point)

I would like to say one more thing just because you’ve repented, gave your life to Christ/ accepted him into your heart as your Lord and Savior, that does not exempt you from Hell. You MUST continue to live Holy and Righteous. It’s great that you took that step and acknowledge that God’s way is the best, but if you go back to what you use to do ( drinking, smoking, cursing, fornication, hate, unforgivness, pornography,….and the list goes on) your not pleasing God and therefor your just hurting yourself. We are held accountable and must walk in holiness and righteousness at all times.

Romans 10:26(KJV); For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

Romans 1:21-22 (KJV); because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.  Professing to be wise, they became fools.

James 4:17 (KJV);  Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

It’s not going to be an overnight thing where you get saved and made perfect.  As long as you are truly trying and willing to stay focused and draw closer and closer to God that’s what God see’s. God knows when you’re being fake and when your genuine so don’t try to pull the wool over His eyes ( he is way smarter than you think). He also knows your end from the beginning.

Spirit of Truth vs Spirit Of Error

In 1 John 4 it tells us that we need to test the spirit. Unfortunately in this day and time we  can’t go around believing everything people say because they have the title “Christian” or “Minister”. In the day and time that we live in it is sad that we have to check behind certain things that are preached over the pulpit. The spirit of the Anti-Christ is very much prevalent in today’s world and even the churches. We have to be aware and constantly feeding our spirits with the word of God so we are not deceived. I honestly recommend everyone to read 1 John 4, it lays out how to know and identify the true spirits from the false spirits .

                                                           Spirit of Truth

1 John 4: 1-2: “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God”

Sometimes the  truth hurts and does not sit well with you, but when you are fed the word of God and the TRUE word of God I can only speak for myself but it causes me to self examine myself and see if the way that I am living is for Christ or Man. When you form a personal intimate relationship with God you will be able to discern what is God and of the devil.

We test teachings by asking questions:

Does the teaching present Jesus biblically ?

Does the teaching represent truth from the Spirit of God as it is portrayed in the Word of God or from another spirit?

Is the message consistent with the Scriptures that teach the physical death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ and salvation by grace ?

With the increase of spiritual error in these last days, we must be courageous to confront false teachings in confidence, with compassion and wisdom. We must know, share, and live the truth, prayerfully asking God to use us to change the hearts and minds of those ensnared by Satan’s lies.

                                                            Spirit of Error

1 John 4: 3 ( KJV) “And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of Antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.”

There are ministries who are more concerned with the amount of people sitting in the seats of the church, then they are about their souls. They want those seats to stay full every service so certain things that the Bible touches on such as lust, fornication, masturbation, rebellion, hate, unforgiveness, perversion, adultery, homosexuality ect, they will sugar coat when teaching so they don’t offend anyone and cause them to leave the church.

If you are a servant of God you are placed here to do your master’s work. You are responsible for lives/souls. If God is telling his servant to  teach on a topic that is controversial and they are tip toeing around the subject and watering it down, making it seem like it’s ok as long as you keep God first, they are not doing you any good but deceiving you.

2 Timothy 4:3-4 ( AMP); “For the time will come when people will not tolerate sound doctrine and accurate instruction (that challenges them with God’s truth); but wanting to have their ears tickled [with something pleasing], they will accumulate for themselves (many) teachers (one after another, chosen) to satisfy their own desires and to support the errors they hold, and will turn their ears away from the truth and will wander off into myths and man-made fictions (and will accept the unacceptable)”.

When that takes place the power of God  is watered down and people start to deny God and start thinking that all the power is in them.

I look at it like this, The Church is a hospital where people come to get nourished, strengthened, healed, saved and delivered . We all need to be healed, strengthened, delivered, saved and nourished in our lives, I know I do daily. I am not perfect by any means. Yes, God  love you and I and has mercy on us daily but we have to put work in as well. Keeping God first is awesome, but keeping him first also requires you to do right by him and live a live that is pleasing to him and being Obedient. We all know as believers what is right and what is wrong concerning God and his will for our lives, or at least we should know.

ALERT….ALERT… One important piece of Advice, when speaking the word of God it is important that we do not… I repeat DO NOT add or take things away from the word of God, that is just placing a curse on you ( Revelation 22:19 (KJV); “And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.”  That’s why it’s important that we study and know the word of God ( Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15)

                                                               Identify who is false?

  • They preach another gospel and a different Jesus from the one revealed in Scripture.
  • They speak “a vision of their own heart, not from the mouth of the LORD” and prophesy lies in God’s name, trying to make His people forget about Him and His Word .
  • They dismiss guilt and justify sin, calling evil good and good evil .
  • They “make captives of gullible women” who are loaded down with sinful lusts.
  • They “secretly bring in destructive heresies”.
  • They speak great “swelling words of emptiness” and entice people through the flesh, promising them liberty but enslaving them .
  • They cause dissension in the church as “untaught and unstable” people follow their example and twist Scripture for their own purposes. False apostles often appear to be apostles of Christ.

                                                           What to do!

Be Discerning: Learn to discern between truth and error:

It is the responsibility of every Christian to be discerning, but our attitude in discerning and confronting error is also important. We must not be hateful, argumentative, or angry, but we must instead expose false teachings with love, kindness, and hope for change. We must listen carefully to what is said and then confront with the Word of God, not our own opinions. God hates evil, but He also despises pride and arrogance, so our attitude in discernment matters to Him

Be Alert:

False prophets deny the Lord, blaspheme the truth, and exploit people with deceptive words. These false prophets  want us to adopt unbiblical values and pursue ungodly goals.God’s people need knowledge of His will, Word, and ways so they will not be destroyed. It is dangerous to add opinions and philosophies to God’s wisdom, just as it is foolish to substitute man made rules and teachings for true, biblical holiness. This is why it is important as believers to fill our spirit with the word of God so we will know truth from error. So always be alert!

Be Biblical: Know and teach the truth, and show it in your life.

God does not want His children to fall into the traps of the Enemy. If we will meditate in His word, we will be less likely to fall for the counsel of the wicked. It is important to come to the Word of God in humility ,without any ulterior motives and biases, asking our heavenly Father to teach us his ways. It is also important to sit under solid, biblical church teaching and to fellowship with strong Christian believers. God wants us to  faithfully seek how to live for Him . We need daily exposure to the Word of God so we will be able to “discern what is best” and live holy, and blameless lives.

Be Courageous: Identify and expose the work of darkness.

God wants us to defend the gospel by exposing lies. We must identify the sources of error that may be influencing our lives or the lives of those we love.

So from this day forward get close to God… seek him like never before so you won’t be deceived and fall into the trap that the enemy sets up for us to fall into and drift away from GOD!

Keep God first and you will not be deceived.
