What's In You Will Come Out Of You!
Galatians 5:19-21 (KJV); 19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
1 Corinthians 6:9-11 (KJV); 9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
Have you ever thought that what we put before our eyes, receive with our ears, and let come out of our mouth, is a reflection of who we are. Every day our spirit is being exposed to the good, the bad, and the ugly that we choose to let in on a daily basis. Our spirit is the seat of our emotions and character of our soul. Whatever you put in your spirit is who you become, and you act on it.
Everything that we take in through our eyes, ears, and mouth are either going to prosper us or poison us. Our hearts are like radios, and if you want to tune into the things of God we must be careful with the kind of reception we pick up. We cannot pick up junk and things of the world, but expect God to hear us or want to work through and in us. When we allow the foolish communications of this world to taint our spirit then we become disconnected from the things of God, and God himself.
Eyes: Matthew 6:22-23 (KJV); 22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!
Our eyes are one of many gate ways that leads to our spirit. We MUST be careful with what we put before our eyes (such as TV Shows, movies, magazines, things we watch on the computer, etc.). When we watch shows or movies that are filled with nothing but cursing, drama, violence, and sex, it is not helping us in any way, shape, or form. Let's talk about TV Shows or Nudity. At first you may see it as normal because everyone has seen nudity. If you continue to watch perverse things the spirit of lust, perversion, masturbation, and even pornography, can easily be brought upon you. Before you know it all you can think about is sex and you become addicted.
I know we have heard that spirits can be transferred by watching certain programs and movies. A lot of people cannot wrap their minds around how that could be possible, but when you watch TV or movies your spirit is being fed whatever it is that has been put into that programming. For instance, I use to love watching KUWTK ( Keeping Up With The Kardashians). I would watch it religiously. Khloe Kardashian was my favorite one on the show. I would DVR it, watch re runs, I would know line for line (yes I'm that person). I didn't notice it but I started to act and speak like Khloe. My mom actually pointed it out and told me that the way I behaved and spoke was not like me! I would catch attitudes and get snappy with my mom, the way Khloe would with her mom (which if you have ever seen, is not something you would want to do). I had watched so much of that show that I started to act like the people that I was watching and didn't even realize it.
It took me seeing it for myself, to understand that I needed to stop watching that show and get my life all the way together. When we entertain our flesh with programs that taint our spirit, Satan will use that opportunity to put deception in your mind and make you think that there is nothing wrong with watching a women get undressed, children having no respect or honor for their parents, people killing one another with no remorse. We become so desensitized that we see nothing wrong with it, and don't even realize that we are becoming chess pawns for Satan to use.
There are many other ways that spirits transfer. Not just by tv shows and movies, but also by what you see around you; such as trying to dress like other people, or speaking like those around you. We try to fit in so much with whats accepted, that we carry on the spirits of others just to feel like we belong. Things that you wouldn't normally do if you were by yourself, you do when your in a group setting just to fit in. Some people may still argue that you can't transfer spirits by watching certain programs and movies, and we can debate that until we are all blue in the face...but IT'S REAL!! ( Read: Psalm 101:3, Matthew 8:28-34, James 4:7, Galatians 6:8, Galatians 5:19-21)
Mouth: Matthew 15:11 (KJV);11 Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.
This scripture verse speaks about when you eat with unwashed hands...you harm no one but yourself. This will be carried out as waste from the body. When we speak evil things out of our mouths (which starts in the heart), we sometimes hurt someone else so badly that the damage is permanent. We have a choice on how to voice how we feel. If you are in a situation where it's very intense and you are feeling all kinds of negative emotions, think before you speak. If you speak what you are feeling at that time and moment you will most likely:
- Say something you will regret and can't take back
- Make the situation worse
- It will show the person how you really feel about them
- AND most importantly, it will show your heart and who you truly are.
1 Corinthians 15: 33 (KJV); 33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
Lets be mindful of what we say! I feel like the mouth is one of the important gateways that we need to focus on. We voice our opinions all the time and we say how we feel on a daily basis. Our mouth and our spirit are very well connected. If something is not settling in your spirit, and you don't like something, we will voice it. Some of us need to be mindful of how we communicate. Especially, if it is a heated discussion, you will most likely say something that you will regret but will not be able to take back. They always say " Words are free. It's how you use them that could cost you". I always compare people's angry responses to what people say when they're intoxicated. The truth always comes out.
Ear: Mark 4:24 (KJV); 24 And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given.
God wants us to be mindful of what we listen to. God wants to speak to us and direct us. He can't do that if our ears are clogged with filth. A lot of people think God doesn't speak to them, but in reality He speaks to us everyday. The question is, what are you doing that you are unable to hear from God? Who or what are you listening to that is blocking your ability to hear from God?When it comes to our ears, it is important to be selective with what you allow to receive or dismiss. As a Christian, we are not to listen to worldly music. When we are listening and filling our spirit with music that is polluting our spirit,it's doing nothing but:
- making us become stagnant in our walk
- takes us away from being in the presence of God
- and it is feeding our flesh
We are suppose to be killing our flesh daily. With listening to music that glorifies sex, drugs, partying, drinking, and other lustful and perverse activities, our minds are being corrupted. With that, the enemy sees that as an opportunity to get you involved with those abominable acts.I remember when I was in the world. If I was mad and I wanted to go off on someone, I thought listening to music would help me calm down. In reality it made it worse. My whole demeanor would change and it would get me hyped to the point that if I were to see that person who got me mad, I would be ready for war. That is not how our Heavenly Father would want his daughter to act. We must be mindful to what we listen to. Not just music, but how we communicate as well. If you surround yourself with individuals that only speak negatively about people, stay around them long enough and you will start disliking who they dislike, even if they did nothing to you. Just because you continue to surround yourself with this person and entertain their foolishness, you start to carry on their spirit and now you have issues with someone for no reason. Now, it's all because you HEARD something and let it get in your spirit.Ending Note: Here are some of the consequences that we will face if we continue to indulge in these activities:
- We can learn to accept ungodly violence as okay.
- We can accept a secular picture of the world.
- We can develop impure sexual thoughts or lust
- We learn lessons that rarely work out in real life.
And we must:
- Evaluate what you let into your spirit.
- Be rational ( would God approve of you watching these things?)
- Do not blindly follow society's standards
- Be alert
- Pray for wisdom and balance
