Lady Of Purity!

PURITY <3

Purity is not just about virginity. It's also about dignity, Purity is not restricted to femininity,but requires the protection of chivalry,and regard for responsibility. Purity is not innocence out of ignorance, it's making a choice that's different. Even when facing a challenge. Purity is not just about hiding behind a white veil, or donning a white, spotless gown. It's about going through a season of waiting, even if it can be tough. Purity is not just a state of being, it's a state of knowing, valuing and protecting... The sacredness of a marriage. The loyalty to one's spouse. The unity of two to form one flesh. Not giving up one's body to all the rest, but leaving it for God's best. -Esther Pang Hui Min 

                  

There are many different ways that you could view purity. You could view purity as being sexually pure , spiritually pure, your heart being pure. The Purity that I am speaking on today is Sexual Pureness.  We live in a day and age where everyone is having sex left and right, from all age ranges as young as 15 (maybe even younger). Unfortunately we don't hear a lot of Women and even Men encouraging their peers to respect themselves and their bodies. It's important that we set a standard and set limits in a relationship, have someone hold us accountable and pursue a vibrant relationship with God. In doing these things we won't fall into temptation. Yes, we will be tempted but we have a better chance of not going through with it.If you've already gave yourself to another person do not get discouraged and do not feel condemned. It is not too late to be made whole and new in Christ ( we will get into that later). Below are reasons why it is important to wait.

God Wants Us To Wait:

As believers in Christ we all should know that our bodies are not our own. We were bought with a price which was God dying on the cross for us.  Making the decision to give your body to another person is a real big decision and I think it should be taken serious because there are consequences at the end of the day. The world views sex as just another thing, no big deal, everyone is doing it, but God said that we are to separate from the world and not be as unbelievers.

I can promise you that if you're in a relationship that having sex with your partner will not make them stay with you and could cause problems, lead to unexpected pregnancies ,STD's, etc. Never think that you know more than your heavenly father who created sex.

The Story of Ruth ( A Love Story):

The story of Ruth offers us an insight into how the blessings and guidance of God can be bestowed even in difficult times. Ruth, as we shall see, committed her life to helping others; and as a result, she was blessed by God for her faithfulness.

There was man from Bethlehem named Elimelech who went to live temporarily in the country of Moab with his wife and two son's due to a famine.  Elimelech's wife's name was Naomi and his son's names were Mahlon and Chilion. They were Ephrathites from Bethlehem. Naomi's Husband passed away and she was left a widow with two sons to raise. Fast forward  the sons took wives from the Moabite women; the name of their wives were Orpah and Ruth. They lived there ten years and then both Mahlon and Chilion also died, so now Ruth and Orpah are now widows and Naomi is without both of her sons.Naomi, Orpah and Ruth set out to go back to the country of Moab because they heard how the Lord took care of his people (of Judah) in giving them food. On their way back to Judah Naomi thought that it would be best if her daughter in laws return to their mothers house.  Naomi was saying her goodbyes and wishing them well and gave them a kiss. They didn't want to leave Naomi in this time of mourning and sorrow, but Naomi was not sure why they would want to stay. So Naomi asked them" why should you go with me? Do I still have sons in my womb that may become your husbands?" She told them to go because she is too old to have a husband. Naomi also said " If I said I have hope, and find a husband tonight and even gave birth to sons, would you wait until they were grown? No my daughters; for it is much more difficult for me than for you, because the Lord's hand has gone against me".  Orpha decided to leave Naomi but Ruth stayed loyal and did not leave Naomi's side. Naomi tried one more time to convince Ruth to follow her sister in law Orpha and go back to their native land,  but Ruth declined once again and said where you go i go,and wherever you lodge, I will lodge; your people shall be my people, and your God, my God. .Naomi and Ruth then traveled to Bethlehem and when they arrived the whole city was stirred up because of them. Naomi was known in Bethlehem because she once lived there but when she returned she did not want to be called Naomi which meant "sweetness" but wanted to be called Mara which means "bitter" because she felt that the Almighty has caused her great grief and bitterness.  The time that Naomi and Ruth came back to Bethlehem it was harvest time so Ruth felt that it would be best if she found work. Ruth found work in a field that so happen to belong to a man named Boaz, he was a man of great wealth and influence.Boaz returned from Bethlehem and saw a new face in his field and asked the reapers who she was. They told Boaz that she was the young Moabite who came back with Naomi (her Mother-In-Law) from the country of Moab. The reapers told Boaz that she asked if she could gather after the reapers among the sheaves.  So Boaz approaches Ruth and tells her that she can stay and work in his field but stay close by the maids (for her own safety of not being harassed by the male servants). Boaz basically told Ruth whatever you want you can have. Ruth asked Boaz " Why have I found favor in your eyes that you should notice me, when I am a foreigner" and Boaz answered " I have been made fully aware of everything you have done for your mother-in-law since the death of your husband and how you have left your father and mother and the land of your birth, and have come to people that you did not know before.Later that day Boaz invited Ruth to come have a meal with him. After they ate Boaz allowed Ruth to go out in the field and collect grain for her to take home. Ruth afterwards went home to Naomi and showed her all that she was blessed with and brought her some food that she saved for Naomi as well. Naomi asked Ruth who blessed her with so much and that who ever this person was that he would be blessed as well. Ruth then tells Naomi that his name was Boaz, Naomi was surprised and said that Boaz was a close relative of hers.Naomi then gives Ruth instructions on what to do next which was to find out if he would be winnowing barley at the threshing floor that night, and anoint  herself with olive oil, then put on her best clothes and go down to the threshing floor. Naomi told Ruth to stay out of Boaz's sight until he is done eating and drinking. When he lies down notice the place where he is laying down and go uncover his feet and lie down. So Ruth did just that, in the middle of the night Boaz wakes up to Ruth laying by his feet and he is startled. He wakes up and says "who are you?" Ruth replies and says " I am Ruth your maid, spread the hem of your garment over me, for you are a closer relative and redeemer". Boaz says the Ruth“May you be blessed by the Lord, my daughter. You have made your last kindness better than the first; for you have not gone after young men, whether poor or rich. Now, my daughter, do not be afraid. I will do for you whatever you ask, since all my people in the city know that you are a woman of excellence.The relationship developed further, and God used Boaz himself to fulfill this blessing as the redeemer . After satisfying some of the minor details of the ancient laws concerning widows and inheritance, Boaz and Ruth were married and became one.Looking at the story of Ruth, her being a widow and going through a lot with her Mother- in-law, she could have walked in her flesh and threw herself at Boaz at the first hint of him having interest in her. When Ruth went to go lay down at the feet of Boaz she could have tried to take advantage of Boaz while he was sleeping but she didn't. She was obedient and followed the instructions that her Mother-In-Law gave her. When Ruth laid down at the feet of Boaz that was a way of showing subjection to Boaz as her nearest of kin. This was letting him know that if he would wish to take legal action for the better of Ruth and her Mother-In- Law that he had an opportunity. This was not an act of seduction but an act of obedience to God for his provision for her in that day.

2 Things That We Can Take From The Story of Ruth:

1) God notices people of good character2)All that is good and worthwhile will come to us if we are patient and commit ourselves to doing what is right in the eyes of God.

Why Should I Stay Pure?

When a lady becomes one with man, or man with a woman, before marriage you connect on a level that causes you to have emotional, physical, and spiritual disconnection.  What I mean by that is, when you give yourself to someone you become emotionally attached to that person (this is more so for the women). We become so emotionally attached that we in a way can become possessive and we are consistently thinking about that person 24/7.  Physically we crave to the point where we feel like we need them physically everyday, and we have formed something also known as a soul tie (which is more spiritual than physical). Lastly, we become spiritually disconnected. When we connected with someone sexually we become to engrossed and focused on them that we put our partner before God. That's dangerous because we have a jealous God who does not want anything or anybody taking his place or being put before him.

Here are some other reasons why staying pure is important:

• Sex is very powerful. It can make you feel a false love with someone and when you break up you will see you were deceived. 

( Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it) 

• Your body is NOT your own.

( 1 Corinthians 3:16-17 Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you? If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him. For God’s temple is holy, and you are that temple.)

• We must be a good example for the world because we are the light. Don’t cause people to talk bad about God and Christianity.

(1 Timothy 4:12 Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.)

• You won’t feel guilty and ashamed.

(Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.)

• If you have truly repented and believe in Jesus Christ  for your salvation you will be a new creature. If God truly saved you and you are truly a Christian, you will not continue a  lifestyle of sin. You know what the Bible says, but you rebel and say, “who cares Jesus died for me I can sin all I want” or you try to find any way you can to justify your sins. 

(Hebrews 10:26-27 For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries.)

•  Through all the temptations together you waited and you will glorify the Lord with your new spouse. You both shall become one with Christ and it will be an amazing once in a lifetime experience.

(1 Corinthians 10:31 So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.)

My Mind vs My Body!

The Mind is a very powerful thing and could make us do things that we normally wouldn't do. The brain is part of the nervous system, which goes through the body, and the brain controls production of hormones and releases chemicals linked with different emotional states. Most people don't realize the extent to which their mind has control over their own body. For example you could visualize yourselves eating something sour and your mouth starts to get produce a lot more saliva then usual (yuck).

 Once you've connected with someone on the level of becoming one, your body starts to crave them and emotions that you thought would not form could start to develop and you become attached. Before you know it, all you can think about is him/her and you just want to be around him/her. That's why it is best to wait until marriage. Sex was created for marriage, it was a gift from God.

I Am No Longer Pure What Now?

Even though we make mistakes and some of us may have already gave ourselves sexually you can still be made over. When you become a believer and even if you are already a believer you can be born again. When you are born again in Christ that means that  you make a vow between you and God that you will no longer engage in any sexual activity until you are MARRIED. You are to keep yourself pure until that special day!  So repent, make a new vow/commitment to God, and stay pure and close to God. You can pray the prayer below if you need to confess and make a new vow/commitment to God.

 FATHER, I COME TO YOU IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST.  I CONFESS THAT I HAVE SINNED.  I HAVE MESSED UP BY __________(NAME THE SIN INCIDENT)____.  I ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THIS SIN IS AGAINST WHAT YOUR WORD SAYS AND THEREFORE I REPENT OF IT RIGHT NOW IN JESUS’ NAME!  I COME TO YOUR THRONE OF GRACE AND I ASK YOUR FORGIVENESS FOR THIS SIN.  I PUT THIS SIN ON THE ALTAR AND ASK THAT THE BLOOD OF JESUS BE APPLIED TO THIS SIN.  LET IT BE OBLITERATED FOREVER IN JESUS’ NAME!HELP ME O GOD TO GAIN THE VICTORY IN THIS AREA OF MY LIFE IN JESUS’ NAME.  I ASK THAT YOU WOULD GIVE ME THE UNCTION OF THE HOLY SPIRIT BEFORE I SAY OR DO ANYTHING THAT WOULD OFFEND OR GRIEVE YOU.  I ASK FOR YOUR FORGIVENESS AND I ASK FOR GRACE IN THE NAME OF JESUS. FATHER, I ASK THAT YOU WOULD FIX THE MESS THAT I HAVE MADE WITH THIS SIN INCIDENT.  ONLY YOU CAN FIX THE UNFIXABLE!  ONLY YOU CAN MAKE ALL THINGS NEW!  I ASK ALL THESE THINGS IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST. AMEN!

End Note:

Sex is a gift from God. Not a present to your boyfriend. That's Fornication. A virtuous woman will wait. Run away from temptations, be patient.  Don’t take advantage of what God created for good. In the long run you will be so glad you waited and God will reward you on that special day. If you happened to have sex repent, sin no more, and pursue purity.
