LOVE!!! What a strong word that a lot of us use loosely. I don't think that we have come to a full understanding of what Love is. Yes, we all have or at least thought that we were once upon a time in Love. What I can say for sure is that the best definition and description of Love is God's Love. What is God's Love? Well that is what we will discuss in today's Blog.
God's Love:
A relationship with God is like no other relationship you may have experienced. There is nothing you can do to cause God to love you any more than He already does and there is nothing that will cause God to love you any less. There have been times that I even had to ask myself if God loved me, because I knew the behavior that I carried was not of God and he wouldn't approve. He loves you, even more than you love yourself. In the beginning of your life in Christ, you will have found total love and acceptance. Now this could be hard to understand if you’ve never felt totally loved and accepted by anyone. But it’s true! Unfortunately, you won’t always feel that God loves you. There will be times when you find yourself doubting His love and you will want to give up.... BUT DON'T!!! I can speak from experience that the Love of God is an experience. There are times that I'm unable to express the Love of God because it is just so great and indescribable! There are times I'm just happy and having a wonderful day, not because something happened or I did something but because that's how the Love of God will make you feel. Just happy for no reason what so ever. It's a just because moment. Think back in your life ( especially for those of us who were DEEEEPP in the world and had one toe in hell) think of all the crazy things you've done. Do you think that if God didn't love you and care for you that through our crazy times he would save us from hell's fire, correct us when walking out of line, give us men and women to watch over our souls, and give us multiple chances to get ourselves together? Knowing what you know now about God, his love, mercy and grace, would you go back and say just one last time for old time sake? God loves us so much that even when were deep in sin and hurting not just ourselves but hurting Him as well that he didn't give up on us.Who do you know would tolerate someone to rebel against them, walk in ignorance, betray them, say and do things that are hurtful time and time again? * I'll wait*.... Right no one.... I guarantee that we've all done things that God should have said enough is enough and taken his hands of protection off of us and let the devil has his way.
Ways that God Loves Us:
There are endless ways that God shows his love for us. I am sure that as I list some way that God demonstrates his love , you would probably realize that you've had some kind of encounter that is similar.
He Created You: ( Psalms 139)With God creating each and every single one of us we need to understand that he did not just create us to be a body here on earth. He has designed us each for a certain purpose and plan. We all have a job that we have been given and it's up to us to carry that plan out.Christ Died for You: ( Romans 5:8)Let's just be real with ourselves. No one is going to die for you so that you can have a better life. We live in a society where it's all about us and being selfish and not selfless. In Jesus' case, God sent him for our benefit that through him we will live and live life more abundantly. If Jesus had not died for our sin's we would not have the grace that we have which is to be forgiven and have a fresh start and be made new in Christ.He is Jealous over you: ( Exodus 20:2-6)God is a jealous God. He does not like it when we give all of our time/ attention to things or people. I know when some of us hear the word "jealous" we may look at it as something negative but God's jealousy is not like our jealousy! He is jealous because we are to make him the center of our life and he has BIG things in stored for us. If we don't submit to God and let him have free course in our life, what he wanted to do in our life as far as blessings, prosperity ect He will bless someone else with it. God's goal is t make sure that his children are blessed and taken care of, but He is unable to do so when we are putting things and people before him and only coming to him when we need something.He wants a relationship with you: ( Jeremiah 29:11)Even though God is a gentleman he won't force himself on you. If you want a relationship with him then go and form a relationship, but if you choose to not have a relationship with him then so be it. God gives us ample opportunity to get to know him intimately. It's up to us.He Allows trials: (Proverbs 3:12)When we go through different stages of life we may not understand why things may transpire. When we go through these stages in life of growth and maturity in Christ we learn to lean and rely on God. By us leaning and relying on God we see that he is capable of doing the impossible, and we can trust him and know that he will never leave us or forsake us No Matter What!!!He gave us Jesus:( John 3:16, 1 John 4:9) The life of Jesus gives us hope. Because of him we can overcome sin and have eternal life. God wants you to know you are loved. You can more fully feel his love as you learn more about the life of Jesus.He gives the Holy Spirit ( Romans 5:5)Do you ever just feel good and peaceful and calm? Often this is the spirit of God whispering to your soul that you are loved. Through good days and bad days, God sends feelings of love to your heart. He wants you to know he cares.
