Can't Walk With The World & Walk with God.
Revelations 3:16-17 ( AMP); So because you are lukewarm (spiritually useless), and neither hot nor cold, I will vomit you out of My mouth [rejecting you with disgust]. Because you say, “I am rich, and have prospered and grown wealthy, and have need of nothing,” and you do not know that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked [without hope and in great need],
Why are you a believer? Why do you go to church?
Christians are often mocked because we have a reputation of not practicing what we preach! One minute we say we love God and call ourselves made in his image, living holy and righteous before Him, and then in the same breath we have the mannerisms of the world. We are in the world, but we aren’t supposed to be of the world. Obviously we can’t put ourselves in a bubble separating ourselves from the world, but we need to have self- control and learn to not give in to the acts of this world.
Matthew 15:8 This people honors me with their lips,but their heart is far from me;
We aren’t supposed to get caught up in the world’s way of
- living
- selfishness
- greed
- strife
- envy
- gossips
- enmity with God, etc.
We are to be different, set apart by how we live our lives. Do you really think God can move and work through us, if on the inside all we have is a whole bunch of filth, confusion, lust, and perversion from the world? God needs us to have his likeness.
How can we compel others to come to Christ when we mirror the world? That sounds very silly right? We want people to know the God that we serve and have that relationship and intimacy, but we ( the examples) are living like hellions. We must really ask ourselves who is my God? Am i really serving God? Where do I want to live for eternity Heaven or Hell? ( yeah, I went there!) BUT, Really think about it.
Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
There are no grey areas when it comes to living for Christ! Either we are all the way sold out for Christ or all the way sold out to satan. God would actually prefer us to be either HOT or COLD! I say this because if your COLD God can work on you and get you to the place where you want a relationship with him! If your already Hot and on fire for God great! God is a gentleman so he will not force himself on no one. His arms are opened wide ready to receive you, but if your back is towards him and you have shunned him then so be it.
God hates Lukewarm people it’s vomit in his mouth and he will spit you out!
Revelations 3:5 ( AMP); He who overcomes [the world through believing that Jesus is the Son of God] will accordingly be dressed in white clothing; and I will never blot out his name from the Book of Life, and I will confess and openly acknowledge his name before My Father and before His angels [saying that he is one of Mine].
Are you Lukewarm?
Characteristics of a Lukewarm believer:
- They only come to God when they have a problem
- They are selfish and only think about what God can do for them.
- They don’t trust God and twist the word to fit their sin.
- They compromise with the world because it’s the most “popular” choice.
- They only want to be a Christian because they are afraid of hell.
- They never share their faith.
- They think they are Christians because they do good deeds.
- They care more about what others think than what God thinks!
Living for Christ comes with sacrifice. When you come to God and say the sinner's prayer and accept Him as your Lord and Savior it's time to die to the old you. So that means if you enjoyed partying, drinking, smoking, lusting after women/ men, being provocative, fornicating, cursing, listening to worldly music and watching certain TV Shows, all that has to comes to an end.
If it does not glorifying God you do not need to entertain it. It's time to put old things in the past and start over, living fresh and a new for Christ. It's time for a spiritual purge.
This is why we get baptized after we accept Jesus into our hearts. Being baptized symbolizes you dying to your old self ( going under the water) and coming up a new person ( coming up from the water). After becoming a new creature you will have to practice dying to your flesh and get your life with Christ in order. It takes time to be totally delivered especially after , there will be plenty of denying yourself, fasting and praying that will take place!
We have to continuously stay at the feet of Jesus and cry out for our souls to be delivered and set free.
If you really want God you will try your best to live for him and set a standard for yourself. God is aware of who is truly living for him. God looks at the heart and can see those who spend time with Him daily and making an effort. If you are purposely sinning and doing what the word of God says not to do then that makes God very upset and displeased.
We as the body of Christ must raise the standard and do better. We all have a purpose, and that is to share the gospel of Jesus Christ and want souls saved, delivered and set free from bondage. We all have a part in God's plan.
There was a time when people went to church, heard the truth and wept over their sins. Today..... people go to church hear a motivational speech and ignore their sins.
"Part-time Christians cannot defeat a full time devil"
Satan would love nothing more than for us to become distracted by the world and become lukewarm to the pureness of Christ.The devil will make you feel like if you don’t follow the crowd and what is “popular” then you are an outcast and a reject and he knows that we are all about our emotions and we let that dictate what we will do and will not do.
In this day and age everyone wants to be accepted and liked by one another, that we lose who we are to impress those who could care less about our soul salvation!
We cannot fall for his tricks. We have something greater than this world to help us. Let go of things that are of the earth, and “put on therefore, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, humility and perseverance; bearing with one another, and forgiving each other”
It's time we stand up to the devil and let him know who and whose we are he can’t touch us! It’s time that we take back our walk, take back our identity in Christ and let the devil know he should have his way with you when he had you....But it’s too late boo! You are dismissed!
I hope this encourages you! Let’s rise up as the body of Christ! Set a standard and live as God intended for us to live! Stop giving room for the enemy to come in and wreck havoc!
