He Is Jealous For me
Have you ever craved someone’s attention so bad that you would do whatever you needed to do to get their attention? When I think of that illustration it makes me think of how God is when it comes to His children. God loves us so much and he wants us to want him! God will allow things to happen in our life to get our attention and also grace us with another chance to come to him! People may question Why is it so important to have a relationship with God? As believers we come across a lot of obstacles not saying that people in the world don't, but the obstacles that we face we can't face them like everyone else. Having a relationship with God will help you make the right decisions, it will help you deny your flesh and deal with situations in a way that will avoid confusion and chaos.
When you have a relationship with God he can speak to you in a moment where you feel lost, you will have a bond with Him that no one else has. You won't have to question if he is with you, if he is listening because you know who he is and He is in you. God gave us his love without conditions, he just wants us to draw close and commune with Him. How amazing is that? In the world we live in today we have to be mindful of who we build relationships with because people have ulterior motives... but not God! When we build a relationship or better yet a foundation in Christ we don't have to look over our shoulder or question Him because HE IS LOVE AND HE IS PURE!!
- Seek God On Purpose; Isaiah 55:6-7; Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near; let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
You do not have to wait for something to happen for you to seek God. Unfortunately it takes drastic measures to get people to see God. Seek him on purpose. Do not wait for a feeling just do it! If you wait to "feel" like seeking God you may never do it .
- Deny your flesh; Galatians 5:19-21;Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
I cannot stress this more and more we need to DENY! DENY! DENY! our flesh. The word says our spirit is willing but our flesh is weak! Our inner man ( spirit) wants that relationship with God but because we are wrapped in flesh, born and shaped in iniquity the temptations around us tend to look more appealing and satisfying than what we know is right. When you get to the point where you can deny your flesh and have self control it will be hard for the enemy to dangle bait in your face and you take it, because you have self-control and a relationship with God.
- Separate Yourself: 1 Corinthians 7:15; But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace.
Distance is most of the time necessary! When you spend time by yourself you don't have distractions. You can spend time with God learning about him, growing in him, letting him do a work in you that will draw you to your purpose. Most of the time when you seperate yourself from the crowd God will show you the people who you surround yourself with. Sometimes the people who we surround ourselves with is what is causing confusion, distance from God, chaos, and just unnecessary issues.
- Pray: 1 Thessalonians 5:17; Pray without ceasing,
Last but not least....PRAY!! Your prayer life is the way we communicate with God. Communication with God is what helps our relationship with him grow and become strong. So I want to challenge you guys to have date nights, or quiet time with God. Let him minister to you. Get to know him and build a relationship with him.
I hope this blessed you and encouraged you as well.
