God is Good Despite of….
God has been showing me that despite what things be may look like or what I may be going through He is still good. Even though in the moment there may be some questions and unsettled emotions, He knows what He is doing. It’s when we allow our emotions to become greater than our God that we allow the enemy to come and steal our peace, joy, and faith. When you keep your eyes on God and allow him to be God and you just surrender to his will and what he is doing he always show up and shows out.
John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full
I think one of the toughest things I have and am still going through is the season of singleness. Thankfully I am at a place of contentment, but it was not always like this. Imagine your friends getting engaged, married even having kids and you're still single. No prospects in sight. You can start to second guess your future, yourself & God. Even though I was happy for them and celebrated with them, it felt like a punch in the gut every time someone else announced they were engaged. I know I am not alone. I know some singles who have experienced what I felt. Despite all of that I had to encourage myself and remind myself of the promises that God spoke pertaining to my life. He says in Jeremiah 29:11; For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
It’s important rehearse the word of God. When you rehearse the word of God you are building your faith, giving you that reassurance and it’s just encouraging to hear what God has already said. It’s funny the word rehearse if you look at the word it says re-hear ( not including the “se”). When we re-hear or rehearse the word of God its being embedded it into our hearts. We have to remember that this is a spirtual fight.
Psalm 119:11-16 “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, That I might not sin against thee. Blessed art thou, O LORD: Teach me thy statutes. With my lips have I declared All the judgments of thy mouth. I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, As much as in all riches. I will meditate in thy precepts, And have respect unto thy ways. I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.”
So trust and believe that if you seek the Lord and fix your eyes on him and not your circumstance everything will work out and you will see God for who He is.
One thing about Gods word is that it can’t return void, what he says MUST come to pass. Having that reassurance should give us peace over what we go through daily. When the enemy tries to spew his venom in your spirit or your thinking make sure you remind him of what your Heavenly Father has already spoken, denounce fear, doubt, sadness, anger, rejection ect. God is good despite of….
Stay the course, keep the faith and don’t waver. Sometimes the Lord will test you to see what you will do when things don’t go as you thought they would. Will you still have faith if you don’t see your prayers come to pass or as soon as you would like? Will you walk away from him completely? We have to understand that God is good despite of if he does what we are believing for or if he decides to go another route and not allow that thing to happen. God knows what he is doing. He created us, formed us, he knows our end from the beginning, we should adopt that mindset that if it doesn’t happen God is still Good, If it does happen but it will take awhile God is still good.
God knows what we can and cannot handle, He knows what will hurt or harm us in the long run. Just put your trust in God and know that He is good, He is Faithful, He is Loving, He is Just, He is all knowing, He is your redeemer, He is your friend, He is your Father, He is your defender, He is your restorer, he is so much more Despite of.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I pray for anyone reading this. Lord open up their hearts to receive you and know that you are good despite of what things may look like. Lord we know that you are greater than the thing we are going through, you already have a plan for us and our future. Help us to let go and let God be God in and over our lives. I pray for those that need encouragement that they will be encouraged while reading this post. Let you get all the glory. God continue to help us, continue to remind us of who you are and your goodness. We thank you and love you for who you are, not what you can do but because of who you are, and despite of what we face YOU CHANGE NOT!
