Knowing God for Yourself

Knowing God for yourself can save you from a lot of fear, doubt, confusion, chaos, traps of the enemy and decisions that could leave you in a bad state. It’s easy to hear other people speak about their relationship with God and how God has moved on their behalf, and from that you can be inspired, motivated, encouraged by their testimony which is great. It’s when you become intentional about seeking God for yourself and getting to know him and build that personal relationship/ foundation with God, you will see God in a different way. You will start to see who He really is, He is Elshaddai (The Lord God Almighty) , Yahweh (Lord, Jehova) , Jehovah Jireh ( The Lord Will Provide) , Jehovah Shalom ( The Lord Is Peace) and the list continues. You will understand his love, his faithful, goodness, mercy, grace, compassion, selflessness, gentleness, his favor. The list can go on FOREVERRRR! He is just so awesome.

I was born in the church, raise baptist now I’m non-denomination, and growing up I would hear my parents speak about God and it seemed like that’s all they would ever talk about. I would always question myself as to why do they only speak about God, there is more to life than God ( so i thought). We would have small group in our home, and my parents were always ministering to someone even til this day. I was young didn’t fully understand the goodness of God. Fast forward to now being an adult and getting to know God for myself , I completely understand. I wish I started my relationship with God sooner or should I say took my relationship with God more serious throughout my younger years.

When you know God for yourself there is a confidence and boldness that arises. You know who you are and whose you are. You can see the devils tactics, plan and how to fight not in the natural but in the spirit. When conflict arises you know how to handle it, you know that God your counselor, comforter, helper, advocate .You know he is on our side ( Psalm 118:6-9), God is in control ( Isaiah 53:1), He will order your footstep (Psalm 119:133), and God will fight your battles ( Deuteronomy 20:4).

The more you set that foundation in Christ and build that relationship, he will show you yourself. Areas that need to be pruned, people or relationship you need to let go of, your heart, your mouth, how you deal with your enemies ect. I really want to encourage you to get to know God, be intentional. Talk to him daily, make room for Him, allow him to speak to you, feed your spirit with his word, start breaking bad habits, ask God to show you YOURSELF! God wants to do something great in you. It is not to late to get to know God. Better late than never. Tomorrow is not promised as we see daily in the news, in our community and backyards.

Let’s grow together and build the Kingdom of God.

Let’s Get To Know God For Oursleves.

Scriptures to Mediate on:

Hebrews 4:12; for the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double edged-sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; It judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart

James 4:7; Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Philippians 3:10; I want to know Christ - yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death,

Proverbs 8:17; I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me.

Romans 12:2 ; Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God‘s will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will.
